Eddie Garland Johnson

Eddie "Garland" Johnson passed from this life and entered his heavenly home on March 9, 2026. Garland was born on April 19, 1948, to the late Dallas and Della McPeak Johnson in Sparta, Tennessee.

Garland was a man of quiet strength and steady character, remembered most for the way he showed up for others. Selfless by nature, Garland never hesitated to lend a helping hand offering his time, wisdom, or skills to anyone who needed them. Garland believed in the importance of balance and moderation in life, often teaching by example. A steady and thoughtful observer, Garland carried a simple down-to-earth faith that often guided the way he lived and treated others. He had a love for woodworking and carpentry and working with his hands, but there was very little he couldn't do once he set his mind to it.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Johnson.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughter, Amy Huff, son, Mark Johnson, granddaughter Eliana Johnson, and his sister, Judy Williams.

Garland will be remembered as a steady presence, a humble teacher of life's simple truths, and a man whose kindness and faith quietly touched so many lives.

The family will welcome friends for a visitation at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 10:00AM until 1:00PM. A graveside service will be held following the visitation at Spring Hill Cemetery at 1:30PM.
