Eddie Martin Safrit, 78, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC, after complications of pneumonia.
He was born August 29, 1946 in Salisbury, NC to the late Harry Lee Safrit and Mae Belle Weaver Safrit. Eddie proudly served in the United States Marine Corp for 4 years and spent many years as a professional truck driver. He enjoyed working outdoors and spent a great deal of time "working" in his shop.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Heilig and Peggy Agner; brothers, Robert "Bud" Safrit, Ken Safrit, Glenn Safrit, Steve Safrit, Neil Safrit; granddaughter, Allie Ward; and daughter-in-law, Debra Lambert.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Jane "Jean" Eury Safrit; brother, Tom Safit (Irene); step-children, James Lambert, Sandy Ward (Eddie), Pam Spicer (Jeff); grandchildren, Kyle Ward (Nicole), Sheana Litaker, Brandy Burgess (Michael); godson, Hunter Scott Safrit; goddaughter, Jamie Safrit Sokolowski; eight great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard, P.O. Box 923, Salisbury, NC 28145.
