Eddie Ray Smith, 70 of Pineville, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pineville. He was born in Pineville on November 10, 1955, a son of the late Wilburn and Bytha Lee Elliott Smith. Eddie had been a welder and mechanic in the Nally & Hamilton Coal Mines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Smith; son, Timothy Wilburn Smith; sister, Vickie Watts; and brother, Johnny Smith.
Eddie is survived by his son, Travis and Donna Smith; grandchildren, Ethan Smith and Matthew Logan Smith; sister, Linda Brock; brother, Carl Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens in Pineville.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Smith Family.
