ED DAWSON
Edgar J. Dawson, Jr., age 72 of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, died on Monday, September 1, 2025. He was born, Edgar John Dawson, Jr., on July 14, 1953, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of five children of Edgar John, Sr. and Patricia Lois (Tate) Dawson.
Ed grew up in Baldwin Borough and graduated from Baldwin High School and served in the US Marine Corps during the final stages of the Vietnam War. He loved building and flying model airplanes, photography and anything to do with computers, but most of all he loved watching his sons play sports.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean (Dziamniski) Dawson in 2021; his son, Bradley A. “Boo” Dawson; his parents, his sister, Patricia Dawson and brother, Albert Dawson. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Heather Dawson of Jefferson Hills, PA, two sisters, Debbie (Ed) Linnard and Denise Surman and nieces and nephews.
There will be no public funeral service, and his burial will be private. Arrangements are by Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com.
