Edgar Farve Obituary
Edgar Alexander Farve (Age 80)
Of District Heights, Maryland, formerly of New Orleans, Louisiana; passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center (Largo, MD).
Eddie served four years in the United States Air Force (1960 -1964) and two years Air Force Reserves (1966). He finished his military career as an Air Policeman, Andrews Air Force Base, MD. He was employed by the DC Public Library, United States Postal Service, and District of Columbia Fire Department. He graduated with an Associate Degree in Applied Science, Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Washington Technical Institute and the University of the District of Columbia. He served the DCFD for 27 years courageously and heroically. He suffered several major injuries including severe smoke inhalation (1983), ending his career as a Rescue Squad Fire Captain, with 100% performance of duty retirement, January 1994.
Eddie is mourned by his beloved and devoted partner Tanya H. Deskins, Ed. D; daughter, Khanya Deskins-Christian; grandchildren, James and Kharis; nephew Dominic Pearson and sister-in-law Rev. Nikki Pearson. He is survived by two previous children Debbi Powell-Townsend, Edgar Anthony (Tony) Farve; a grandson; great granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until Celebration of service at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 25 at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, 3600 Brightseat Rd., Landover, MD 20785. Interment will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9 at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery. Services By Henry S. Washington & Sons Funeral Home.

Dear Farve Family,
On behalf of the University of the District of Columbia and our predecessor institution Washington Technical Institute, we'd like to offer our deepest condolences on the passing of our dear alumnus, Edgar Alexander Farve. May God extend his peace and comfort to the family, and flood your heart with fond memories.
