Edgar A. Jaeger

Edgar A. Jaeger, age 90 of Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Edgar was born on February 23, 1932 in the town of Washington to the late Henry and Dora (Runge) Jaeger. He graduated from Gillett High School with the class of 1949. After graduation, Edgar worked on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. In 1959, Edgar married Alice Buhrandt and the couple moved to Milwaukee. While in Milwaukee, the couple attended Chapel of the Cross Church where Edgar served as the treasurer for many years and played dartball. Edgar worked at Allen Bradley until his retirement in 1991 when the couple moved to Mountain. They greatly enjoyed living the lake life and became members of Tabor Lutheran Church. Edgar was also a member of Suring American Legion Post 283. While he was in Korea, Edgar was proud to have served as a military police escort for Marilyn Monroe. Edgar enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid bird lover and master animal caller. His family was very important to him and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Edgar is survived by his wife, Alice; 2 children, Greg (Barbara) Jaeger and Debra (Paul) Atkins; 3 grandchildren, Anna Jaeger, Emily Jaeger, and Paul Atkins; a sister, Anita Peterson. He is further survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jim Peterson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Tabor Lutheran Church from 9 am until the memorial service at 11 am with Pastor Steven Stoll officiating. Military honors will follow the service. Edgar will be interred at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Hintz. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements.
