Edgar Shannon McGonigal

Edgar Shannon McGonigal passed away on June 8, 2021 at his apartment in Orlando, FL. Shannon was born March 17, 1992 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He lived in Carmel until age 12 attending Park Tudor. He then moved to Tampa, FL with his family and eventually to Orlando, where he graduated from high school in 2011. At various times he lived in Vermont, Boston, Boulder and St. Louis before returning to Orlando to be near his family. He enjoyed music, reading, writing poetry and hanging out with his many close friends. He cared deeply about all those he met and so many have expressed how much Shannon had helped and influenced their lives. His life ended way too soon. His two cats, Nico and Lou, always brought him comfort. Survivors include his father, Edgar R. McGonigal of Orlando, his brother Justin Graves of Carmel and his sister, Thaya Lupo, his brother-in-law, Michael Lupo and his nephew, Cillian Patrick Lupo of Orlando. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary McGonigal, his grandmother, Maxine Gustafson and his grandparents, William and Katherine McGonigal. A memorial service will be held at 1PM, on August 18 at the Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, with calling hours 12 Noon till time of service.
