Edgar Allen Pearce

Edgar Allen Pearce, 79, of Amherst, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 at his home.

He was born on August 19, 1946 in Lodi, Ohio to Carl and Mae Lucille (Howard) Pearce.

Ed graduated from LaGrange High School. He was a Veteran of the Army who proudly served his country from May 1966 to May 1968 as a medic. He was employed at several places in Lorain County; Coca-Cola, Triple A Appliance, York, LCCC and continued his career to teach HVAC at LCJVS. He was also employed at Home Depot in Elyria for several years, beginning on the day the store first opened. Ed and his wife attended Church of the Open Door for many years and where they enjoyed singing in the church choir. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandkids participating in their many sports and music activities. He also enjoyed birdwatching, with a love of eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly, whom he married on December 12, 1992. He is also survived by his daughters; Barbara Pearce, Stacia Kendeigh, son; Matthew Kendeigh, 5 grandchildren; Kaleb Cain, Lauryn Cain, Logan Cain, Brantley Kendeigh, Myles Kendeigh and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife; Hazel E. Pearce, daughter; Susan Ann Pearce, sisters; Janice Sommerville, Lois Zalenski, Norma Blanke, and brother; Ronald Pearce.

Friends may call on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon at Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman with Mel Sayler presiding. Burial will follow in Camden Cemetery, SR 20 Kipton, OH.
