Edgar Pierce Obituary
Edgar proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years before retiring as a tech sergeant. He then worked for Roadway Express as a driver and served on the Delaware Township Trustee Board for 20 years. Edgar enjoyed cooking and barbequing, even making his own BBQ sauce. He liked to collect antique Coca Cola memorabilia, going to the beach with his family, and watching sports, especially IU and North Carolina. Edgar was well liked in the neighborhood, was nicknamed "The Mayor", and was active in the homeowners' association. He was a member of the Early Birds of Hoosierland and owned a 1957 Chevrolet and a 1957 Thunderbird. Edgar was also a member of the Fishers Athletic Club that met for breakfast at Hardees and was a member of Fishers Masonic Lodge.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Carmel Health and Living for taking such good care of Edgar.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy Pierce; daughter, Annette (Aaron) Payne; sons, Edgar (Connie) Pierce, William Pierce, and Mark (Janice) Pierce; granddaughters, Amy Feugate and Jennifer Rice; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis and Tanya Mahan and their daughter Britt Mahan; sister, Patricia (Adrian) Bass; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Pierce.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with Rev. Stanley R. Sutton officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Township Trustee Office, 9090 E 131st St, Fishers, IN 46038.

A Person You Touched

Ed always an outgoing and friendly person! He would stop into Touch N Go Collision to talk cars and parts. He would often bring in some of his famous BBQ sauce and even his ribs. This was a small act that showed the enormous generosity and kindness. While I did not know Ed until later in life, his big personality and the mark he left will always be remembered. Thanks for being a great person, Ed! Rest In Peace my friend!
