Edith “Lucy” Louise (Snyder) Boggess, 75, of Charleston passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2023 at her daughter’s residence.
Born November 30, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Katherine (Shrewsbury) Snyder.
Edith graduated from Collins High School in Oak Hill. Later, she worked for hospice as a home health caregiver. In her leisure she enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles, watching “her” birds, dancing, cooking, and, most of all, she loved spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren.
She loved to play the keyboard and the accordion and sing gospel songs. She grew up singing in church with her sisters, was part of a Christian broadcast on television where she sang and played the accordion. The memories of hearing her play music and sing with her old brown song book laid out somewhere nearby will always be treasured
She is preceded in death by brothers, Mark Snyder and DeWayne Snyder; and sister, Patricia Foster.
Those left to cherish her wonderful memory include her 3 loving children, Robbie Tatum (Jeff), David Duff (Brittany), and Cynthia Randolph (Mike); 13 grandchildren, Devin Seyler, Clay Miller, Alex Tatum, Aron Miller, Alex Duff, Adam Duff, Andi Duff, Levi Duff, Luke Duff, Nathan Barth, Ryan Duff, Caden Lucas, and Kolton Randolph; 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Doug Snyder (Linda) and David Snyder (Diana); 2 sisters, Ethel Matz and Katherine Workman; sister-in-law, Mary Snyder; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill With Pastor Ken Souder officiating . Following the service, Ms. Boggess will be cremated.
Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hospice in Charleston for the exceptional care and compassion they showed.
