Edith Crawford passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 6th and joined her beloved husband, Roy.
Funeral services have been set for Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmie Stripland officiating. Interment will follow at Long Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Edith was born April 12, 1939 to Gus Leland Chase and Mattie (Susie) Pickle Chase. She married Roy James Crawford on May 13, 1956 and they enjoyed 66 years together. Edith worked many years at Furr's Cafeteria. She also worked many years at Crockett cafeteria before retiring. She and Roy spent their retirement years in Blossom, Texas.
Edith is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy Crawford and wife Carol, Dan Crawford, Gary Crawford and wife Maryellen; brothers, Ron Chase and wife Kathy, Larry Chase; sisters, Electra Miller, Connie Chase; brother-in-law, Clarence Crawford; granddaughters, Rachel Terry, Lauren Wilson, Elizabeth Williams and Megan Smith; three bonus grandsons, Michael Gray, Sean Hill and Cody Hill; numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; and her parents; daughter-in-law, Paula Crawford; sisters, Janie Baxley, Nell Mitchell, Helen Sellers, brothers, Jack Chase and Tom Chase; brothers-in-law, Russell Miller, Joe Mitchell, Lawrence Crawford, Doyle Crawford, Loil Crawford, Glenn Crawford; sisters-in-law, Janie Chase, Lottie Smith and Dora McEntire, father-in-law and mother-in-law Jess E. and Iva Rushing Crawford.
Pall Bearers will be Cohen Terry, Corbin Wilson, Mason Terry, Darian Green, Brent Smith, Larry Crawford. Honorary Pall bearer: Brayden McCormack.
