Today, we gather with heavy hearts but filled with love to honor the life of Madame Edith Accou Tenelus—a woman of great faith, profound devotion, and unforgettable gentleness.
Edith was born on February 6, 1947 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, one of nine children of Ladresse Accou and Imazille Pauleus Accou. She grew up in a family where the values of God, family, work and service were essential.
From a young age, Edith possessed a natural grace and a profound sense of beauty. Her attentive eye , patience, and creative talents led her to become a model and dressmaker—two roles that reflected both her elegance and her creativity.
In Haiti, her work as a seamstress was respected for its impeccable quality. She made wedding dresses, perfect alterations, and custom-made clothing for local clients and members of the National Palace.
In 1986, Edith moved to Miami, where she met her husband, Charles Tenelus. Together, they started a family and were blessed with two children: Edward and Sherley.
After settling in Orlando, she continued to work diligently and retired after ten years of service at Disney Epcot. Her faith was the central force in her life. She loved going to church on Saturdays and had a sincere relationship with God.
In the last years of her life, Edith faced her illness with courage. She passed away peacefully in the Lord on November 1, 2025.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Tenelus; her children, Edward and Sherley; her brother, Lazzare Accou ; his sisters, Hélène, Metellus and Christine Mentor; as well as a large family who will always love him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
