In 1958, Tweetie joined the Special Services staff of the U.S. Army, which took her to Nuremberg, Germany where she took advantage of every opportunity to travel the European continent. She returned to the states in 1959 and settled in Port Jefferson, NY.

Tweetie was the proud mother of five children whom she raised in Kalamazoo, MI.
