Edith Goodman

Edith Goodman, age 92, of St. Paul, passed away on May 29, 2024. She was born in Romania and was a Holocaust survivor. In 1959, she and her husband, Max, arrived in St. Paul from Europe and were welcomed by Max's aunts, cousins, and their families. They all remained close throughout their lives. Edith was fluent in seven languages, made friends easily everywhere, and was always happy to help anyone in need. She was a healthcare interpreter for many years and an active volunteer in the community. Most of all, Edith's greatest joy was her family. Preceded in death by husband, Max; parents, Berl and Clare Fuhrmann; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Berl Sternberg; and brother, Yacov Fuhrmann. Survived by daughters, Susan (Douglas) Lasken and Livia (Peter) Fahndrich; and son, Steven Goodman; grandchildren, Hilary (Pete) Vlastelica, Joseph (Rebecca) Fahndrich, Andrew (Caitlin Lamb) Lasken, Curtis (Samantha) Fahndrich, and Connor (Tess Mor) Lasken; great-grandchildren, Vera, Helena, Theodore, Corinne, and Charlotte; nieces, Shula Benzvi, Ronit Talmi, Sabine Smadja, and Sara Tichon; nephew, Shmuel Nachman; sister-in-law, Annie Rayski; and many other close friends and family. Graveside service 11:00 am SUNDAY, June 2nd at WEST SIDE HEBREW CEMETERY, 1250 Barclay Ave., St. Paul. Memorials preferred to the donor's favorite charity in Edith's name. Shiva 7:00pm Sunday and Monday at The Rivers, 2221 Youngman Ave., St. Paul, in the Community Room.
