Edie, I guess I wasn't supposed to say goodbye to you and instead remember how great you looked the couple of times I ran into you at Giant Eagle and only you could pull off wearing that big brimmed hat looking gorgeous at the grocery store! Your spirit and smile were always the same and I loved how we'd laugh about the time I picked you up for work and you'd overslept so when you came to the door, not ready and without your eyelashes on, I thought you were Angie! We all had some great times at Adele's and a bond even though we all went our separate ways. You were always so proud of your siblings and then your nieces and nephews and being an aunt! I'll miss seeing you but until I do again, rest peacefully.
Loved ya, Emira

I lost a dear friend. Edie Halbauer. Girlfriends are special people who don't care what's going on, if you need them they are there for you and you are there for them. No judgment. Edie was a great friend like that. Always. For 52 years! And more importantly she was a awesome woman, she loved with all her heart and gave you all she had. If you knew Edie, ( that crazy red head with the great nails) you had to love her. I never knew anyone who lived every day with such enthusiasm and also hope for the future. Classy, that's the word that comes to mind. I know I've said this before, she died the way she lived, with class and dignity. My friendship with Edie goes back to when we were 12 years old. That broad had class back then! We learned everything about life together, me and Dar and Edie. But never learned how hard this would be. I loved Edie, she was and always will be someone who had a great(and awesome) part in shaping the woman I am today. I will always cherish the fact I was her friend.

I met Edith at Macy's Strongsville when I worked for Elizabeth Arden cosmetics. She was such a special customer who became a friend. Although we didn't call or hang out together, she always went out of her way to talk to me or just say hi when we ran into each other. And that smile! RIP EDITH
