EDITH KALKBRENNER age 87 years, of Leisuretowne, Southampton,NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Edith was born in Cologne, Germany and has resided in Southampton for 19 years moving there from Medford, NJ where she lived for 35 years. Edith immigrated to the United States at the age of 18 and shortly thereafter met her husband of 57 years, the late Karl H. Kalkbrenner.
She is the beloved Mother of Rainer Kalkbrenner and his wife, Carol (Allen) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Connie Kalkbrenner of Marlton, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kenneth of Clementon, NJ and Eric and his wife, Shoshana of Myrtle Beach, SC. Edith was also blessed with a Great-Granddaughter Eliana Kay of Myrtle Beach, SC.
She worked as a seamstress for the Bonnell Dress Company in Mt. Laurel, NJ for many years before they closed and finished her career with Arrow International in Lumberton, NJ.
Edith always had a soft heart for dogs. She adopted and cared for many over her life. Mecky, Terry, Sheena, Nikki, and her most recent love, Chrissy, who stayed at her side all through her illness.
At the request of the family, a private committal service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Parkview Cemetery in Historic Medford, Coates Street in Medford, NJ.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Medford Township Police K-9 Unit c/o MTPOA, 91 Union Street, Medford, NJ 08055.
