Edith Lynch Obituary
Edith Reginia "Eydie" Lynch, age 82, passed away on March 24, 2025, at the Matthews Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Eydie was born on April 10, 1942, in Gaffney, South Carolina to the late Cleveland Parker and Edith Cooper. A strong and independent woman, she built a successful career as a businesswoman. She was married to the honorable John Lynch, Jr. from 1963 to 1980. Later, she found love and companionship with Wade Good, her cherished life partner, from 1980 until his passing in 1992.
Eydie had a zest for life and a passion for connecting with others. When she was younger, she loved playing tennis, supporting charitable events, and fundraising for causes close to her heart. A true fashion enthusiast, she had an eye for style and elegance. She also found joy in gardening and treasured the time she spent socializing, always surrounded by a circle of valued friends. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren, whom she adored and held close to her heart.
She will be remembered as full of life, vivacious, and fiercely loving and opinionated. Eydie was of the Catholic faith and carried her beliefs with her throughout her life. She also always held a place in her heart for her dogs, TJ and Petey, who were her loyal companions before they passed.
Eydie is survived by her children: John P. Lynch, Patricia Bradshaw and her husband Martin, and Karen Chatfield-Todd and her husband Michael. She was a beloved grandmother to Martin Bradshaw, Jr., Meghan Bradshaw, Patrick Bradshaw and his girlfriend Cara McArthy, and Alisia VanLierop and her husband David, as well as a proud great-grandmother to Adeline VanLierop.
A loving mention must be made to the many dear friends who became her chosen family throughout the years.
A formal visitation will be held at the Gleason Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 1st from 10am-12:30pm with funeral services to begin at 12:30pm. Entombment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the COPD Foundation (COPDFoundation.org) or The Global Fund (act.unfoundation.org).
Eydie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
