Edith J. Marley, age 91, of Fairmount, IN, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, at her residence. Edith was a Housewife. Edith was a prayer warrior and loved serving the Lord. She was the rock of her family and enjoyed cooking and shopping. She attended the Fairmount Wesleyan Church and the Light House Assembly of God She was the daughter of the late Edward Garner and the late Maude (Fones) Garner. She was born on May 28, 1918 in Owensville, KY. She attended Matthews High School. Edith married Elmer Jay Marley on August 17, 1935. He prededed her in death on January 12, 2000. Edith is survived by; One Daughter: Jill (Lewis) Shelton, Fowlerton, IN One Son: Jay F. (Donna)Marley, Gas City, IN 6 Grand Children; Chris Marley, Fairmount, IN Doug Marley, Fairmount, IN Darcie Baxter, Fowlerton, IN Gayle (Terry) Helmkamp, Gulf Breeze, FL Lewis "Bud" (Carla) Shelton, Fairmount, IN Thad (Karin) Shelton, Seattle, WA 13 Great-Grand Children 3 Great-Great Grandchildren Edith's family would like to extend special thanks to her care givers; Sandy Rutledge, Lacy Ormsby, Lyndee Shelton, Ashley McDole and Allison Baxter for the love and care they gave to her. She was preceded in death by a son Ronald Marley, grandaughter Leta Jane and 2 brothers Sydney Garner, Tilford Garner and a sister Oral Montgomery Arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN Visitation is Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from 4-8 PM. Funeral service is Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 10 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Gallaway officiating. Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Hospice in care of the funeral home. On line condolences may be made at www.armeshuntfuneralhome.com
