EDITH MURRAY

MURRAY, Edith Leitch, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013 at her home. She was born September 16, 1921, in Richmond, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Murray; her parents, Edwin Gilbert Leitch and Mabel Edith Haley; and her brother, Edwin Gilbert Leitch Jr. Mrs. Murray began her career in teaching, but left to raise her children and provide support to her husband in his business. She served as a docent in the Executive Mansion for many years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Chesterfield County, Va., was an officer and assistant teacher in the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and was a past president and newsletter editor of the James River Women's Club. She is survived by her sister, Jane Leitch Perrow; her daughters, Linda Murray Medas and husband, Jerry John Medas, and Mary Murray Stowe and her husband, Samuel L. Stowe Jr.; three grandchildren, Bradley Medas and his wife, Jennifer Medas, Jordan Medas and his wife, Lisa Riddle Medas, and Briana Michelle MacRae and her husband, Ian MacRae; and five and half great-grandchildren, Jonah, Abby, Evan, Jessica, Molly, and Baby MacRae; and her nephews, Blair and Alan Perrow. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Thursday, April 11, at 11:30 a.m. at Gayton Baptist Church, http://www.gaytonchurch.org/, 13501 North Gayton Rd., Henrico, Va. 23233. The family will receive family and friends at Mrs. Murray's home following the memorial service.
