Edith "Eda" G. Savino
September 22, 1930 – March 1, 2026
Edith "Eda" G. Savino, of Bristol, the heart and compass of her family, passed away peacefully at the age of 95. She is predeceased by her parents, Marie and Louis Giovanielli, her husband, Ciccio V. Savino, her granddaughter Kelly Ann Thompson and her siblings. She is survived by her children Tina (Tim) Thompson, Vito (Terri) Savino, Ann Marie (Robert) Faucher, David (Tina) Savino, her seven grandchildren, ten plus great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A woman of immense strength and boundless love, Eda leaves behind a legacy woven into the very fabric of those she loved. A steady guiding light to all who knew her, Eda was more than just a matriarch; she was our teacher, our confidante, and the heart of our family.
Eda believed that the best lessons were taught around a kitchen table. She taught generations not just how to cook, but how to nourish your heart and soul. She moved through life with a quiet resilience, and lived with an unwavering philosophy: family always comes first. She taught us that strength isn't just about endurance; it is about how you care for the people you love. Whether she was sharing life advice or a secret recipe in the kitchen, her kitchen table was a classroom where we learned the most important lessons of life.
If the kitchen was her heart, the beach was her spirit. Eda spent her happiest summers at Black Point and in Boynton Beach, Florida, where the salt air and the sound of the tide provided the backdrop for many family memories. She had a lifelong passion for travel, always eager to see what lay beyond the horizon, yet she was always happiest returning home to the people who called her Mom, Gram, and "GG."
Eda's impact reached far beyond her immediate household. She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, and a cherished aunt and friend. She possessed the rare gift of making everyone feel like they had a place at her table.
She is survived by a family that will forever carry her strength in their hearts, her recipes in their kitchens, and her love for the ocean in their spirits. She leaves behind a family that has been shaped by her wisdom, softened by her kindness, and fortified by her example.
The family would like to thank the staff of KindCare of Bristol and the staff from Brighton Hospice for all of their love and care.
