Edith Richard Wilson

Edith Elizabeth Richard Wilson, 92, of Hickory, passed away Monday, December 22, 2025, at Springs of Catawba.

Born October 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Plato Perry Richard and Veda Revanna Green Richard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Wilson; brothers, Maurice Richard, James P. Richard, Louie Lee Richard, Thomas Ford Richard, and Robert Lewis Richard; three sisters, Ruby Richard Jaynes, Mary Lou Crafton, and Essie Jane Richard Webb.

Edith was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and retired as a dental assistant after 26 years of service with various dentists.

She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann Wilson Boyette and husband Gary of Tampa, FL, Eve Wilson Hollar and husband Billy of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Michelle Richardson, Stephanie Richardson Aldrich and husband William, Martin Richardson, II, Rachel Richardson Cakebread and husband Josh, Joshua Boyette, Shannon Duckworth and husband Jonathan, and Sara Rae Hollar; sister, Betty Richard Sain and husband Colon; thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Vern Kinard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Bass-Smith Funeral Home from 6 to 8:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Cynthia Taylor for her loving care of mom, as well as, the staff at Springs of Catawba for their exceptional care.
