Edmond was born on August 28, 1938 in Bristol, CT to the late Edmond and Beatrice (Thibodeau) Denney. He graduated from Bristol High School in 1958 and later began his career in men's clothing. He was co-owner of John Allan's Mens Shop, then worked at Garfield Jones for 15 years, and ultimately retired after 10 years working for Comcast. His lifelong passion was sailing, and would spend most of his spare time on the ocean. He purchased his sailboat "Cedarwind" in 1989, and enjoyed many years as Captain of the Year in the Shoreline Sailing Club.
He leaves behind his two sons John (JoEllen) Denney of Bristol; and Stephen Denney of Plainville; as well as his granddaughter Caitlin, and great-granddaughter Eliana. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation in celebration of his life from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street in Plainville. I had the pleasure of working with with Mr. Denny at Land's and at his Men's Shop. I learned a great deal from him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
