EDMUND HATCH Obituary

EDMUND HATCH Edmund Alton Hatch, 86, passed away October 30, 2025, in St. George, UT. He was born October 1, 1939, in Teasdale, UT to June and Norma Hatch. Eddie learned a love of the outdoors like fishing, camping & Dutch oven cooking from his adventures growing up in Koosharem, UT and later Richfield, UT. He was the oldest of five children and graduated from Richfield High School. He moved to Cedar City, UT in 1963 and resided here and in Enoch, UT for the remainder of his life. Eddie loved doing puzzles, watching old westerns like Gunsmoke, listening to old country music, watching Country Reunion, watching BYU football and golf but his favorite past times were watching wrestling and the Utah Jazz. He was included in various clubs including the Lions Club, Iron County Search & Rescue, and the CB Club where he was known as Blue Streak. He worked as a manager for Cedar Distributing and then went on to become a long-haul truck driver for various companies including Jenkins Oil, Dick Simon Trucking, and Western Quality Foods. He was an avid record keeper, writing down everything from everyone's birthdays to how many miles he drove, to every car maintenance record, to every blood sugar reading, to every sports stat and has record of every bill he has ever paid since 1958. Eddie was married to Kathy Nielson (div), Cecille Gledhill (div) and Charlotte Mickelson. He is the father of nine children. Eddie loved his family and is survived by his children, Margaret Bray, Riverton, UT; Alton Hatch, North Platte, NE, RoseAnn (Mike) Chappell, Cedar City, UT, Gwen (Tom) Cram, Kanab, UT, Jeff (Michelle) Hatch, North Platte, NE: Nancy (Daren) Benson, Paragonah, UT; Darrin (Mary) Hatch, Moore, OK; Gloria Hyita, Fredonia, AZ. 42 Grandchildren, 80 Great-grandchildren (w/one on the way), 5 Great-great grandchildren (w/one on the way). Brothers, Marvin (Hazel) Hatch, Deloy (Jeanne) Hatch, and special companion LaNell Griffin. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Charlotte. Son, Max Hatch, Brother MacRay Hatch, Sister, Annette Hunt, and son-in-law, Mike Spear. The family wishes to thank Eddie's next door neighbor, Kenney & Monica Brunson, for their years of kindness and help with Dad. We would also like to thank the Enoch Police Department and Iron County Ambulance for the many recent visits to his house. But we would especially like to thank LaNell for her caring companionship for the past five years and our sister, Nancy, for the loving care she has given Dad for many years. Eddie has been such an amazing neighbor. We´re going to miss having him next door. He was willing to shoot the breeze. I´ll miss his good humor and just having him there. Condolences to his wonderful family.
