I fondly knew Geneva from her unyielding and passionate work at A. G. Wright Middle School. I was a very lucky and grateful teacher to have gotten to work along side her for many years. She loved all students and knew how to keep them in line. I always requested from the administration, sometimes begged to have her work with me as she knew all the ins and outs of the Home Economics Lab. Her caring and knowledgeable instruction was appreciated by all our students and I am so very grateful to have known her. I adored her integrity, her patience, her spirit and her light she shined everyday she was present.

Mrs. Braxton was my kindergarten teacher, back in 1990 at Stafford Elementary! I searched for her for several years to connect and thank her, but I could never find her. Mrs. Braxton left a mark on my heart forever!

To this day, she’s my favorite teacher. When I cried in kindergarten, because I missed my mom, she’d pick me up and rock me in her big wooden chair! She always smelled like perfume, and had the sweetest voice ever. I never knew she was a believer, or anything else about her. What I can tell you though, is that from the eyes of a shy little 4 year old, Christ’s love shone right through her. She was a true reflection of Christ, with a warm, sweet spirit. She is an amazing woman, and I’m grateful she was my first teacher. Thank you, Mrs. Braxton! You will be missed dearly. Thank you for your contributions to education and for the life-long memories you have blessed me with.

Love,
Stephanie, the little freckly, red-headed girl who missed her mama & was a teacher to be.

To the Family of the late Geneva Braxton:

You have my love and sympathy in losing your Angel, our Angel, MY ANGEL! I had the pleasure of knowing Geneva for 40+ years, and I can't begin to express what a joy it was to know her, share good times with her, and just to be in her company. There will never be another friend like her. I will miss her more than words can say.

Family, we STRONG! God has each of you in the palm of his mighty hand. HE IS WITH YOU!

Lovingly,

Thelma
