EDNA JOY COLEMAN, age 71, of Ward, Alabama was born to the Blessed union of the late Mack and Melvina Woodard Coleman on April 23, 1954 in Ward; Sumter County, Alabama. She peacefully transitioned to the Will of God at her residence May 24, 2025 surrounded by loving family. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Chapel C.M.E. Church, located 5277 Sumter 9 with interment following in Gaston Valley Cemetery. Bishop Johnny Davis will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation; Minister Joyce McCoy is church pastor; with Sister Ennis Ward to serve as Mistress of Order. Sister Coleman will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday (May 30th) from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel with the Eastern Star ceremony designated to start at 4:30. On Saturday afternoon the processional leaves at 1:40 p.m. from the Old Nixon Store, across from the family residence.
