Edna Garner Obituary
E. Ruth Garner, age 94, took her Heavenly journey with her Lord, Monday, April 8, 2024 surrounded by family. Ruth had a heart of giving and support. She was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir and her beloved Sunday school class. Preceded in death by: beloved husband, Stanley H. Garner; grandson, Shawn Riddle; parents, Otha & Stella Barbra; nephew, Perry Payne; special friend, Mark Myers; siblings, Louise (Albert) Myers, Ray (Avis) Barbra, Johnny Barbra, Charles Barbra, Thelma (Darrell) Gregory; sister-in-law, Lois Barbra. Survivors include: loving daughter, Freda (Bobby) Riddle; son, Kyle (Nancy) Garner; grandchildren, Chad (Bethany) Riddle and Amanda Garner; great-grandchildren, Chelsea (Chris) Pereda, Brentley (Ashton) Riddle, Ansley “Sissy” Riddle; great-great-grandchildren, Chloe and Carly Pereda; siblings, Harold Barbra, Clinton (Joy) Barbra, Wayne (Leah) Barbra, and Janice Lowe; sister-in-law, Joyce Barbra; special niece, Judy Myers Wilburn; many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Alice Sauls for her love and caretaking of our mother. A special thank you to UT Hospice for their wonderful care of our mother, especially Nurse Shaundra, hygienist Detra, Cassy, and Daphane. Family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM with Chad Riddle and Rev. Charles Murrell officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Grandview Cemetery.
