Princeton, MO: Edna Earle Goodknight, 99, Princeton, MO passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in St. Joseph, MO.

She was born on October 7, 1926, in Princeton, MO the daughter of Orville Glen and Elsie Mary (Heriford) Mason.

Edna graduated from Princeton High School in 1945 and worked as a city clerk for 33 years. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Princeton, MO. She enjoyed reading, gardening, oil painting, and keeping her ledger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Goodknight, Jr. in 2002; her parents; sister, Elna Clifton, and son-in-law, Gary Nigh.

Edna is survived by her children, Cherie Nigh, Topeka, KS, Debra (Michael) Irving, Chariton, IA, and Greg (Debbie) Goodknight, Princeton, MO; grandchildren, Misty (Jeff) Kerr, Chad (Candi) Nigh, Jammie (T.J.) Ryan, Wendy (Tony) Mershon, and Tarah (Elliott) O'Neal; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 12 at New Hope Baptist Church, Princeton, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Princeton, MO. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the church.
