Edna Harris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home - Columbia on Dec. 20, 2025.
Edna Delores Martin Harris was born November 8, 1958, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved daughter of the late James R. Martin and Eartha Martin Cutwright. She departed this earthly life On Friday, December 19, 2025, at Pruitt Health in Blythewood, SC.

Edna was educated in the public schools of Richland School District One and was a graduate of A. C. Flora High School. She later attended Midlands Technical College, Beltline Campus, where she pursued studies in Business. Continuing her passion for service and entrepreneurship, she enrolled at Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology, where she earned her license as a professional cosmetologist.

Edna was employed by Siebels and Bruce Insurance Company for many years, beginning as a Data Entry Specialist and later advancing to Supervisor of her department. She remained with the company until its closure. In June 1999, Edna, along with Annette Vaught, opened a beauty salon known as Hair Solutions. She worked tirelessly-day and night-to ensure every client was satisfied with their "hairdo," even before Sunday morning services.

At a young adult age, Edna accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at Haskell Heights Baptist Church. She later transferred her membership to Central Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Ricky R. Ezell, Sr. When her busy schedule prevented her from attending regularly, she continued to fellowship at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, where she officially joined on April 9, 2023.

Edna was deeply devoted to her only son, Craig Cleveland Martin, and had an unwavering love for her sister, family, and friends. Her smile was contagious, and to know her truly was to love her.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother, Grover Douglas; sister, Betty Inabinet; brothers-in-law, John Inabinet and Michael Terry; and niece, Kemonai Terry-Dizzley.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Craig C. (Carlisha) Martin; one sister, Christine Martin-Terry; two nephews, John (Crystal) Inabinet, Jr. and Lyndon Douglas; three nieces, Jacquelyn Inabinet, Taneshia Kelley, and Lekea (Terrence) Garrett; Cynthia Suber Brown, a true sister from another mother; along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, and friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
