EDNA JEFFCOAT Edna Frankie (nee Carr) Jeffcoat, 97, formally of Lexington, Ky., quietly passed Tuesday, April 29 in Lawrenceburg, Ind. Born May 28, 1927, in Lexington to Charlie and Mary Cordelia Fightmaster Carr, she was retired from IBM and a lifelong member of Old Union Christian Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Rosie Reds for many years and a die-hard UK basketball fan. Frankie loved sports, traveling, painting and most of all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Charlie Jeffcoat, parents Charlie and Cordelia Carr, a sister, Margaret Carr Smith, five brothers: Rex Carr, Chester Carr, Ora Lee Carr, Wesley Carr and John Carr. Survivors are a daughter, Sandra (Bob) Britton, Lawrenceburg grandchildren Jessica (Kevin) Milburn of Greenville Ky., Anna (Joey) Finley of Bowling Green, Ky., and Zachary Britton of Lawrenceburg, great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 5 at Kerr Bros. Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington. Burial followed in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Bourbon Co. Visitation was 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. prior to service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Old Union Christian Church Choir, 6856 Russell Cave Rd., Lexington, KY 40511 or charity of choice.
