Edna M. Johnson, 76, of Bark River, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 while at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Hartford, CT on February 2, 1949, the daughter of Raymond and Shirley (Radcliff) Gilligan. Edna was raised in Hartford until she was 16 years old and the family moved to San Diego, CA where she graduated from San Diego High School. Following high school, Edna attended Bay College and became the first female pipefitter in Delta County. She was a union pipefitter with Local Union 111 until her retirement.
On, October 12, 1968, Edna married Richard C. Johnson in San Diego, CA. They had three children, Mara, Ricky, and Jennifer, and were able to share over 55 years together.
Edna enjoyed making art with stained glass and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Richard C. Johnson; daughters, Mara (Brandon) Deace and Jennifer (Bob) Knight, both of Bark River; grandchildren, Dylan (Cheyenne) Johnson, Dominick Larson, Danielle Larson, Desiree (Robert) Donalds, Robby Knight, John Knight, and Ricky Knight; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Gilligan; along with several nieces and nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard "Ricky" Johnson II; sister, Geraldine York-Schimeyer; brother, Raymond Patrick Gilligan; and godchild, Raymond York.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, 1236 Old US 2 &41 Bark River, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Deacon Terry Saunders officiating.
Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
