In 1927, the family moved to a farm near Winger, MN. Edna attended a one room rural school there through the 8th grade. Edna made her choice to serve the Lord as a young girl while attending her first church convention. A high school equivalence was later completed by mail correspondence.

In 1965, the family moved into a country school house near Garfield, MN which she and Martin completely remodeled into a three-bedroom home. Edna worked at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, MN for over 20 years. She loved nursing, especially with the newborns.

Following Martin’s passing in 2012, Edna moved to a senior apartment at Winona Shores in 2014 where she remained quite independent with the help of many dear friends in the area. In 2021, shortly before her 100th birthday, Edna moved to Alex Assisted Living.
