Edna Muntz

On August 14, 2025, our sweet Mama, Edna Muntz, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Edna was the daughter of Earl and Dollie Richardson, and was born on March 21, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bethel Muntz; and her sisters, Gail Tyler and Vernell Barker. She graduated from Hallsville High School and later attended Kilgore College. On June 12, 1959, Edna married her sweetheart Bethel Muntz. In her early years, she worked with Bethel at Muntz Meat Market, but her passion was found in working with children and she would eventually own two daycare centers before she retired. She had a deep appreciation for children, often welcoming many into her home. Through her retirement years, Edna enjoyed playing bridge with friends or a good game of 42 with Bethel. Edna is survived by her children, David Muntz, Brenda Pool (Chuck), Beth Redwine (Rick), her sister Nita Brown, brother Johnny Richardson, grandchildren Aaron Muntz, Elisa Webb (Ryan), Danielle Patterson (Jacob), Justin Partney, Ryan Redwine (Sadie), Blake Redwine (Lois) and Brandon Redwine. She also is survived by 14 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Pine Tree Church of Christ on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at noon. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 am to noon prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery.
