Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowser Family Funeral Home - Broken Bow on Feb. 13, 2026.
Edna Jewell Rogers was escorted up to heaven to be with her Lord and Saviour, Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in
Mena, Arkansas, at the age of 96. She was born November 21,1929 in
Cove, Arkansas, the eighth of 8 children born to Edward E. & Lenna D. Gilliam.
Edna lived a long, interesting life, outliving 3 husbands. The first, the father of her 4 children. The second one, the boyfriend of her youth and the 3rd, her retired army helicopter pilot that shared 32 years of love and laughter with her.
Edna was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Mena and most recently the First Freewill Baptist Church of Mena where living each day as a faithful example for the Lord was most important to her. She found her greatest joy in her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life and her proudest accomplishments. Throughout the years, Edna worked diligently in many roles, including as a secretary, in real estate, as a waitress, a dispatcher for a Sheriff's Office, in a leather goods factory, and at Walmart for over 16 years, but above all she cherished her role as a homemaker.
Edna loved living in the country and watching all the wildlife, especially the deer and the birds. She enjoyed working puzzles on cold and rainy days, reading books in front of the fireplace and walking her little dog, Peppi. But most of all she loved being around her family and visiting with friends.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Robert Ham, Paul (Doc) Terrell, and Leon Lloyd Rogers; three brothers, Carrol Gilliam, John Gilliam, and Ben Gilliam; and four sisters, Winona Burgen, Mildred Gilliam, Addie Bryan, and Freda Allinder. And a step-granddaughter, Serenda Rogers.
Edna is survived by her children, Marsha & Jim Tuemler of Tyler, Texas, Larry & Bonnie Ham of Wright City, Oklahoma, Julie & Russell McLelland of
Mena, Arkansas, and Brett & Melissa Ham of
Mena, Arkansas, as well as her beloved dog, Peppi.
Her stepchildren, Larry & Debbie Rogers of Mena, Billy & Shannon Rogers of North Augusta, South Carolina, Bruce & Sue Rogers of Irving, Texas, Shirley & John Hawkins of Maud, Texas and Rick Terrell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Her Grandchildren, Aaron Tuemler, Audrey Pincott, Todd Ham, Alisha Berger, Matthew Ham, Britney Speer, Manda Jewell and Kennon Ham; step grands, Rachel Davis, Eve Bagwell, Kim Shelton, Alisha Rogers, Jason Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Greg Turner, Stacie Morgan, and Jeff Turner; and a host of great-grands and great-great-grands as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends.
