Edna Yvonne Solis

Edna Yvonne Solis, 79, a woman devoted to God, dedicated to her husband, children, and grandchildren, died in the presence of her beloved husband and devoted children on November 8, 2025.
She was a lifelong resident of El Paso and an active member of Saint Raphael's Catholic Church. Her vocation was medicine, having served over 20 years as an X-ray technician at Providence Memorial Hospital for most of her professional career. Edna had a quick wit and an infectious laugh that often-brought comfort to a variety of patients fighting various stages of cancer. Her faith gave her strength while treating frightened patients, until she traded her healing profession to focus on raising her family.
She was born September 14, 1946, the second daughter of Jose Angel and Marta Beatriz Sanchez. She had four siblings and helped to raise her two youngest brothers in the time-honored Mexican tradition. She graduated high school from Loretto Academy in 1964 and immediately began training in the field of radiology.
She met Efrain Solis, who was equally devoted to his family, and the two became husband and wife on May 27, 1972. Edna and Efrain became parents to three children: Andres Efrain; Zansia Yvonne; and Marco Antonio. More than anything, she found her greatest joy in her five grandchildren, who were the light of her life. "No" simply wasn't in her vocabulary when it came to them; if her grandbabies wanted it, she found a way to make it happen. Her legacy of unconditional love will forever live on through them.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents - Jose Angel and Marta Beatriz - and her in-laws - Cruz and Angelina Solis. She is survived by her husband, Efrain; her children: Andres and Fancy Solis; Zansia Solis Bradford and Lywen Bradford; Marco Solis and Susanna Gonzalez Solis; and grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Elva Isela Martinez; Patricia Anne Sanchez; Jose Luis Sanchez and Carlos Antonio Sanchez.
Visitation services will be held Monday, November 17, 2025, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a rosary scheduled for 7 p.m.at Perches Funeral Home – East, located at 2280 Joe Battle Blvd., El Paso.
