Edna Wiest

Edna Wiest, 98, of Wishek, ND, died October 9, 2025, at the Wishek Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Faith Community Church, Wishek. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Kassel Reformed Cemetery, rural Wishek.

Edna Sayler Wiest was born June 13, 1927, Edward and Christina (Weisser) Sayler. She was raised on a farm west of Wishek where she also attended country school. Edna married Ferdinand Wiest on November 9, 1947. Together they settled on a farm southwest of Wishek where they farmed and ranched and raised their family. In 1977 they retired and moved to Wishek.

Edna enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Verna (Wiest) Fish and Sheila Wiest; one sister, Christine; three brothers, Herman, Albert and Victor; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; one great great step-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand Wiest; son, Stanley Wiest; parents, Edward and Christina Sayler; sisters, Eva, Clara, Irene, Landina and Arlena; and brothers, Ludwig, John, Jacob, Reinhold, Daniel and Edward Jr.
