Edra Lee Beebe

Edra Lee Beebe - age 93 of Jamesport, MO passed away Sunday night, January 25, 2026 at Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin. Edra was born on November 30, 1932, the daughter of Everett L. and Adeline Virginia (Atwell) Welch in Cushing, OK. She grew up in Cushing and graduated high school in Drumwright, OK. Following high school she attended The University of Tulsa and studied music while participating in marching and concert band. Edra was an accomplished professional musician. She played the accordion, violin, organ and piano in symphonies, big bands and klezmer bands. Before moving to Jamesport she had lived in Louisiana, New Jersey and Mississippi. Edra spent most of her life in Broken Arrow, OK, where she was a member of the Disciples of Christ. She married Glen Hopkins and they had two sons. Glen preceded her in death and she later married George Beebe. Edra and George owned a precision machine shop. Edra lived a very full life; racing an MGB in SCCA races; being a talented seamstress, she made suits for her sons, costumes for theaters and wedding/prom dresses. Edra will be dearly missed.

Edra was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Glen Hopkins and George Beebe; son, William Vern Hopkins. She is survived by her son, Ernie Hopkins (Lorane) of Jamesport, MO and grandson, Gavin Hopkins of Maryville, MO.
