Edward Bonia

EASTON---Edward Bonia, 84, of Easton, formerly of Brockton passed away on December 12, 2021 at West Acres Nursing Home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Julie (Bastie) Bonia. Born in Boston, a son of Maurice and Retha (Gott) Bonia, he was raised in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Trade School and served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Edward was employed as a stock worker for Hendrie's Ice Cream of Milton for over 30 years. Edward was active with Brockton youth sports where he was a coach for Brockton Baseball and Basketball. He was an avid sports enthusiast. Edward is survived by his children Edward A. Bonia Jr. of Virginia, William R. Bonia of Bridgewater, Michael C. Bonia and his wife Donna of Easton and Kenneth C. Bonia of Carver; a sister, Frances Donahue of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Thomas Bonia, Brian Bonia, Kasey Bonia, Rachel Bonia and Amanda Trenis; and a great grandchild, James Michael Bonia; he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday from Noon-2:00 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
