Ed was a "Very Special Friend" and I will sorely miss him. We shared a lot of common interests and I will always remember him as " My Buddy "

I never met Ed in the traditional sense; I knew him from the old AOL Horse Racing group. On a weekly basis, he put together an AOL handicapping contest that featured the best races in the U.S. (No money was exchanged -- it was simply for bragging rights!) After AOL removed all topic driven message boards, the group disbanded....only to be brought back to life by Ed. He organized annual handicapping contests (again, no money was involved!) for the Triple Crown and Breeders' Cup races. This year, the Triple Crown contest celebrated its 31st anniversary!
Ed was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor, and he certainly loved the races! I am going to miss his annual contests, even though I always had my clock cleaned by the pros. :-)
Thank you, Ed, for all you did to keep the old AOL gang together, and all the stories you shared. I hope Heaven has a racetrack where you can watch Secretariat, Affirmed, Alydar, Alysheba, Kelso, etc., all day long.

When I think of Eddie it makes me feel happy and silly. He was so much FUN!
I love reading about his coaching career, too!
Carole and Eddie are forever in my heart

I am saddened to hear of Ed´s passing. As a new principal at JFK he was always kind and helpful to me. He gave me excellent advice and I could always rely on him for a great sense of humor. I looked forward to his visits to JFK and our trips to conferences. He was a good guy and will be missed. My condolences to his family.

Sending prayers and condolences to the family I was a neighbor as a teenager and babysat their girls. They came to my 1st wedding in 1965.

Mr. Cryer as we referred to him was our WHS track coach for years, probably the most successful of all coaches in the history of WHS sports...mentored many runners and field men throughout his long tenure as coach, won numerous county championships as track coach in the middle 1960's..dont think we ever lost a duel meet with him coaching the team..won the Englewood Invitational Track meet in New Jersey in 1966..a big east coast track event...always a good natured soul with a wry sense of humour...he'll be deeply missed by all who knew him
