Edward DiLieto
Edward DiLieto, 72, of East Haven died peacefully on January 19, 2025, at Connecticut Hospice with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Marianne Ioime DiLieto. Ed was born in New Haven on April 20, 1952, a son of the late Biagio and Rose Greco DiLieto. He worked as a Marshall for the State of Connecticut for more than 40 years.
Ed had a great sense of humor, was extremely generous and was passionate about cooking and everything that went with it like shopping, prepping and plating his delicious meal. Ed also enjoyed crabbing and fishing. Nothing brought him more joy and happiness than being with his family. Whether it was sitting around the table for dinner, a quick visit to say hello or celebrating a holiday, his family was at the center of it. Ed was also a man of deep faith in God.
Ed was the loving father of Rose DiLieto (Shawn Mansfield), Theresa DiLieto (Jordan Figueroa) and Edward DiLieto, Jr. (Lea). He was the best "Poppy" to Jase DiLieto, Shawnie and Biagio Mansfield and Gracie Figueroa. He was the devoted brother of Robert DiLieto (Michelle), Anthony DiLieto (David Campanelli) and the late Benjamin DiLieto. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Generoso "Gene" Ioime (Marlowe) and his cousin Jimmy Greco.
Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to Blessed Michael McGivney Parish at St. Michael Church, 29 Wooster Place, New Haven Thursday morning at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. The burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Padre Pio Foundation, www.padrepio.com.
