Edward Cephous Dotch

Edward Cephous Dotch, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and respected businessman, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, in Edison, New Jersey. Born on August 18, 1940, in Mobile, Alabama, Edward, left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Edward's journey began in the warm community of Mobile, where he was born to a loving family that would grow to include numerous siblings. As he matured, he met and married the love of his life, Doris Portis, and together they built a life filled with joy and the laughter of their two daughters, Erica Nicole Dotch Holder, married to Kevin A. Holder, and LaWanda Theresa Dotch. The family would later be blessed with the arrival of four adoring grandchildren, who became one of Edward's greatest sources of pride and happiness.
A pillar in his community, Edward was the esteemed owner of Dotch Limo and Car Service of Plainfield, New Jersey. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to service allowed him to forge lasting relationships with his clients and colleagues. Edward's work ethic and commitment to excellence set a standard in the transportation industry and provided a legacy of integrity for his family to uphold.
Edward was a United States Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam war. Edward was longtime member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Plainfield NJ.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Cephous and Mable Ruth Powell Dotch, Two brothers Joseph Delano and William Henry Dotch and one sister - Daisy Amelia Dotch Montgomery.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Doris Dotch, Two daughters Erica Nicole Dotch Holder, married to Kevin A. Holder, and LaWanda Theresa Dotch. Adored Siblings Mrs. Josephine Deloris Childs, Ms. Mable Ruth Dotch, Ms. Debra Laverne Dotch, Mr. Rayford Dotch Sr. and his wife Beverly, Mr. Emanuel Dotch Sr. and his wife Annie, Mr. Norman Dotch and his wife Pamela, Mr. Enoch Dotch and his wife Rosa, Mr. Paul Dotch and his wife Margo, Mr. Ronald Dotch, and Mr. Gary Dotch Sr. and his wife Donna. Each of his siblings and their spouses shared a unique bond with Edward, one that was characterized by mutual respect, support, and an unbreakable family unity.
