Edward Roy Edquist, 90, of Kenosha, WI passed away on Saturday afternoon May 31, 2025, in the caring and capable hands of the doctors and nurses at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie Hospital.
Born on May 1, 1935, in Kenosha, WI, Edward was the son of the late Roy and Lena (Gillmore) Edquist. On June 11, 1960, he married the love of his life, Nancy Irene Ehrhart, at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Kenosha, WI. She preceded him in death in 2021.
Edward grew up on the family farm in Kenosha helping his parents. He purchased the family farm from his father and ran it successfully for over 40 years. He retired from farming at age 62 in 1998. He dedicated his life to family, friends, community, church, and country.
He is survived by his four children, William "Bill" (McKenzi) Edquist of Paddock Lake, WI, Carol Edquist of Kenosha, WI, Mark (Lori) Edquist of Paris, WI, and Robert (Leah) Edquist of Paris, WI; sister, Bernice Stiehr; nine grandchildren, Timothy, Andrea, Ryan, Carson, Ashlyn, Riley, Grace, Cole, Iver; two great-grandchildren, Roman and Henry; and many, many extended loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Nilsen; brother-in-law, T. Arnulf Nilsen; and brother-in-law, Duane Stiehr.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Robin Way in Kenosha for their compassionate care and attention paid to Edward Edquist during his final years.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Proko Funeral Home. An additional visitation will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 8760-37th Ave. Kenosha, WI from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m. with lunch to be announced after. In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Kenosha, WI are appreciated.
