Edward L. Eschman, age 77, of Dalton, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024. He was born July 30, 1947, in Massillon, the son of the late John and Helen (Ridley) Eschman. Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam. Edward retired from Rupp Construction in 2012 after 47 years of service. He was a member of Cornerstone Community Church and V.F.W. He was a volunteer for the Kidney Foundation of Wayne County and belonged to Historical Construction Equipment Association and Harley Davidson Enthusiasts - HOG. Edward is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy L. (Morris) Eschman; son and daughter-in-law, Edward J. (Sarah) Eschman; sister, Shirley Sumner; grandsons, Elliott Eschman, Andrew Shelton, and Garrett Shelton; son-in-law, Steve Shelton; and special friend, Paige Eberhart In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Shelton; grandson, Ethan Eschman; brother, John Eschman; and special friend, Rachael Nofsinger. Calling hours will be held on TUESDAY, November 19, 2024, from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel, 639 First St. N.E., Massillon, Ohio. Funeral service will follow beginning at 12 Noon. His burial will follow the service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cornerstone Community Church, 18600 Davis Rd, Dalton, OH 44618.
