Edward Fall, Jr. Obituary

1959 - 2024

Edward J. Fall, Jr. 64, of Taberg, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at home, with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Rome, NY, on December 19, 1959, son of Sandra (Illingworth) and the late Edward Fall, Sr. Ed graduated from Westmoreland High School in 1979. On September 19, 1981, Edward married Marie Medick at Zion Epsicopal Church, in Rome, a union that lasted 43 years, until his passing. He worked at Kekis Mobil, NAPA-Rome Unit Parts, Chicago Market and as an independent Water Operator. Ed retired from Oneida County, in 2016, after 34 years.

He was a member of the Oneida County Republican Committee and currently held a position as a Town Councilperson for the Town of Annsville.

Ed enjoyed watching and attending NHRA drag racing, spending time with all his grandchildren, taking care of the outdoors, feeding birds and the outdoor cat family. He also enjoyed classic cars - especially his 1973 Cadillac and having to do work on his wife's Mustangs. When his children bought their homes, he was always there to help with the many DIY projects that were needed.

Ed was an avid Syracuse University Basketball fan and he also enjoyed watching the late Dale Earnhardt race back in the day.

Surviving are his wife, Marie; children, Jennifer (Ethan) Gallagher, Edward (Marissa) Fall, III and Frederick (Rachel) Fall; and nine grandchildren, Brayden, Emma, Luke, Edward IV, Westyn, Colt, Jason, Max and Andrew, who brought him great joy. He also leaves a sister, Regina; brother, Nelson; aunts and uncles, Fred (Gayle) Illingworth, Richard (Chris) Illingworth, Linda (Ron) Ziminski and David (Brenda) Fall; mother-in-law, Elaine Medick (Robert Blockston); sister-in-law, Melissa Medick (Frank Polak); and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including Stephen Fall.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Mabel and Fred Illingworth; paternal grandparents, Mary and Tony Fall; uncle, Ron Fall; sister, Tracy Fall Campbell; as well as cousins, Roxanne Mould and Scott Fall.

Edward's family would like to thank all the family members that helped with his care, especially his aunt and uncle, Gayle and Fred.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
