Edward James Garver at the age of 53, passed away on April 28, 2024 in Eustace, Texas. Born in Bakersfield, California August 24, 1970, he was the son of Darlene and James Garver.

He was a long haul truck driver for over 25 years. He often shared pictures with his friends and family of all the beautiful places he had passed through. But, you was sure to know he was home when you saw that “big red rig pulling up.”

He was a long time member of the Porter Bluff Community Association, where he was famed for his grilling, fire pits and pool parties. Edward, throughout his years was known by many names, Edward, James, Jimmy, Jimbo, and the list goes on, but he was known by most as “friend". He had a way with words and always looked to have a good time.

He is preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents and his paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his daughter Jessica Garver of Eustace, mother Darlene Thomas of Eustace, brother Adrian Thomas of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, sister Amanda Rodriguez and her husband Julian Rodriguez, cousin Paula Tibby and husband and the Porter Bluff Community, which he considered his family.

Services will be held at Moorhead Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City on May 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Goshen Cemetery. The viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to the time of service.
