Edward H. Graff Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the age of 82, under the compassionate care of Western Reserve Hospice. Born on January 29, 1942, in Lakewood, Ohio, Edward was the cherished son of Edward H. Graff Sr. and Elizabeth Jane (nee Bainbridge) Graff.
Edward's life was marked by dedication, talent, and a strong work ethic. He graduated from North Ridgeville High School in 1960, where he proudly served as Captain of the Basketball team. Following in his father's footsteps, Edward made his career as a general contractor and carpenter. A talented craftsman, he began working for his father in the family business, eventually taking the helm and continuing the business until his well-deserved retirement.
In addition to his contracting work, Edward was the owner and operator of Dickason's Marina, showcasing his diverse interests and entrepreneurial spirit. He had a deep love for gardening, often sharing the fruits of his labor at his vegetable stand on Oak Point Road.
Edward's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an active member of the National Hot Rod Association and took immense pride in his 1948 Anglia car, a testament to his love for classic automobiles.
Edward is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Jacqueline (nee Dickason) Graff; his loving daughter, Bonnie (Edward) Faber; his sons, Bryan Graff, Russell (Amy) Graff, and Kevin Graff; and his cherished grandchildren, Amanda (Brad) Anderson, Daniel Graff, Jason Graff, Jessica Faber, and Brooke Faber. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Collin and Ethan Anderson; and his dear sisters, Ann Spice and Janet Ramey.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward H. Graff Sr. and Elizabeth Jane Graff.
To honor and celebrate Edward's life, the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Gathering on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Amherst Beaver Creek Reservation, 913 N. Lake Street, Amherst. Attendees are encouraged to dress casually, reflecting Edward's approachable and warm spirit.
