Edward Hare Obituary
August 26, 1950 - October 10, 2025
Edward F. "Ed", "W1RFI", "Fast Eddie", Hare Jr., who spent decades as an employee of "ARRL The National Association for Amateur Radio" has become a Silent Key. He died on October 10, 2025, at the age of 75 after an illness.
Born in Leominster, MA, he grew up in Manchester, and lived in West Hartford and Hartford before moving to Burlington, CT. Recently retired as Lab Supervisor (but actively volunteering) for ARRL national headquarters, Ed's passion for radio and engineering sparked in his teens.
His life will be celebrated on Sunday, November 9th at 2:00 p.m. at Unity of Greater Hartford Church, 919 Ellington Rd., South Windsor, CT 06074. Livestream of the service will be available at https://unityhartford.org. The family has asked that 'Anyone attending should bring a drum or instrument so we can give Ed a great sendoff."
