Edward Lawrence Hayhurst, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on July 7, 1960, in Tulsa to Lawrence and Carol Jean (Jones) Hayhurst, where he also grew up and received his education, culminating in his graduation from Washington High School in 1978.
Edward dedicated his professional life to his career as a draftsman for Millcreek Wood Systems. His talent and commitment to his work were evident in every project he undertook, leaving a legacy of craftsmanship and precision.
Beyond his professional life, Edward found joy in various hobbies and interests, particularly hunting, fishing, and woodworking. These activities allowed him to connect with nature and share wonderful experiences with family and friends, fostering cherished memories that will be remembered for years to come.
Edward's family was the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind his loving wife, Susie of 47 years, who was always by his side, as well as his daughter Carol Fields. Edward was a proud grandfather of six grandchildren and a great-grandfather to two, who brought him immense joy and fulfillment. His warmth and kindness extended to several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will remember him with love.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Carol Jean Hayhurst; his son, Lawrence Edward Hayhurst; his brother, Jack Hayhurst; his sister, Jeanette Smith; and his granddaughter, Atia Fields. Each of these individuals shaped Edward's life in profound ways, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Edward Lawrence Hayhurst will be remembered not just for his professional achievements and interests, but more importantly, for the love he shared with those around him and the indelible mark he left on their hearts.
