"Well done, thy good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:21

Edward Heyward III was born on September 14, 1964, in Savannah, Georgia. From an early age, Edward was grounded in faith, family, and service. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, later uniting with Nicholsonboro Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member, continuing his walk with the Lord until his earthly transition.

Edward received his formal education in Chatham County and graduated from Robert W. Groves High School in Garden City, Georgia, Class of 1982. While in school, he was blessed with exceptional athletic ability and was recognized as an all-star athlete in football and Track and Field. His discipline, perseverance, and team spirit were evident both on and off the field and followed him throughout his life.

Answering a true calling of service, Edward dedicated over 40 years to the healthcare field. He worked compassionately as a personal caregiver, offering comfort, patience, and dignity to those entrusted to his care. Edward was employed at Georgia Regional Hospital for more than 30 years, where he faithfully served until his retirement. His work was not just a profession-it was a ministry, and his impact will be remembered by colleagues, patients, and families alike.

Edward was a devoted and loving father and grandfather, who found his greatest joy in his children and grandchildren. He was a caring brother and uncle, deeply connected to his family and always present with guidance, humor, and love.
Known for his warm smile and infectious sense of humor, Edward had a gift for bringing people together. He loved fellowship, cooking-especially seafood-sports, traveling, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. His presence filled rooms with laughter, love, and peace.

Edward lived a life of faith, service, and love. Though he has transitioned from labor to reward, his legacy will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
