Edward HINDS Obituary

HINDS, Edward J. Of Middleboro, formerly of Lincoln, passed away, on April 13, 2023. Beloved son of the late Edward H. Hinds and Edith M. (Hebert) Hinds. Predeceased in death by his brother, John; and sister- in-law Mary; survived by his sisters, Edith Hinds of Gilford, NH and Doris Timmins and her husband, Arthur of NH as well as many nieces and nephews.

Eddie graduated from Norwood H.S. in 1949; he went on to attend both the New Hampton Prep School and UNH. He was drafted in the United Stated Army and served as a rifle man and field medic in the Korean Conflict. He was wounded while in the battle of "Outpost Harry" but recuperated and returned to Korea. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his outstanding conduct.

Upon returning home, Eddie joined the family business, E. H. Hinds Trucking & Rigging in Watertown, until his retirement. He owned several harness horses, enjoyed flat racing and was an accomplished poker player.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, Saturday, April

22, at 11am. Visitation immediately prior to the service from 10am to 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment to follow at the Lincoln Cemetery. Donations in Eddie's name can be sent to, Gary Sinise Foundation. Douglass/Customer logo
