Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bailey Funeral Home - Peapack on Feb. 18, 2025.
Edward Iannone of Somerset, prior Hamilton Twp and Basking Ridge, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025. He was a longtime resident of the Matheny School, having lived there since the age of 5.
Born July 15, 1966, with Cerebral Palsy, Eddie faced many challenges in his life with such courage and determination. He lived his life to the fullest at the Matheny School in Peapack, NJ, later moving into their group home in Basking Ridge, NJ. We are forever grateful for the love and support they provided to him. Eddie had spent 6 years at an assisted living apartment in Hamilton Twp and had recently returned to Matheny's group home in Somerset, NJ.
He leaves behind his sister Andrea and her husband Dale, a niece Kristin and her husband Jake, and great niece and nephew, Lily and Evan. He was predeceased by his mother Mary Iannone (2014) of Ridgefield, NJ, and father Andrew Iannone (1996) of Bronx, NY.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, from 1-5 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack NJ. Interment will be private.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Eddie's name can be made to the Matheny School, PO Box 339, Peapack NJ 07977.

As a former Matheny nurse, I knew Ed since 1992. He was a fierce self advocate and lived life to the fullest despite his disability.
